Dedication Thread for Elisha ( Eerie )
Survivor
It is not a name I sought
nor one I chose
when darkness arose
to eclipse my every thought
Yet illness is not a curse
not meant to punish
make me diminish
as things became worse
Since I have come to find
these lessons I have learned
while many silent tapers burned
have brought me peace of mind
Savoring each held breath
taking it now fully in
knowing how I now win
every moment over death
I transcend just being alive
fought for it from the start
with body, mind and heart
to stay here to still survive
Dear Eerie feel these words... from another survivor
Resilient
You've endured pains
You went through many challenges
That most people cannot handle
You're a fighter who never gives up
No matter what life throws at you
You take it head on
Courageously fighting without fear
A resilient spirit lives in your soul
As you find yourself in another battle
Always keep that zeal and courage to fight
Never lose that hope of victory
You are stronger than you think
You've endured pains
You went through many challenges
That most people cannot handle

Haunting your chapel
If only we could edit
the poem of your body
excise all of the extraneous
words it has been lined with
over the years having turned
the days against joy's grain
going through your goose;
now an agonizing swan song
growing noisy of poltergeists
their running-with-scissors
cutting commentary in the background
occupying foundation's crawl space
taking up residence in closets
hallways, and even under the bed
—you still have time to evict them
from your head using a red pen
utilizing said scalpel with surgical
precision to purify your chapel
of Past's demons clawing away
at Present's ribcage for attention

I was in too great an emotional state yesterday to put my thoughts to paper. There are not enough words of sentiment to even begin to express my gratitude for the beautiful offerings in this thread. The outpouring of love, support and encouragement has been so overwhelming. A girl has never felt as loved as she does in this moment and I thank each of you for sending out hope and well wishes.
This journey has changed every single aspect of my life, and I would be remiss if I did not say it has been for the positive. It’s interesting, the closer you are to the next phase of the soul journey, the more open you are to the beauty that surrounds you. At least that has been my experience 💫
You are all very special to me and I will treasure your words as long as there is breath in this body ✨🤎✨

FOR EERIE
When the moon folds, the sun cools,
the stars do their supernova thing
or implode into a black-hole
swallowing even the last worms,
and everybody thinks
“that’s it, this is the end, there is no more…”
… astonishing the many but not the few who knew,
words of long-forgotten poets
will sail on through the cosmos
bringing new life to the eternal adventure
we call Universal Consciousness
Don’t be surprised;
The Way always been this way.

FOR EERIE

For Eerie
Mother Sun
hear my call,
I ask of you gold
to bring her into being,
the brightest balm
of a filtered canopy
open and guide her to clarity.
Let us be your children
to carry your gifts
where once was only
darkness.
Let her sip the scent
of your warming light,
help carry the seed-heads of belief,
elevated bright to dance across
the silver threads of this new day,
to feel the tree tops sway
and join the single voice
of all creatures.
We won't look down again,
our faces bathe beneath your touch.
These doubts crawl further away
deeper into the dark forest.
A sealed stone thought,
grinding as it slides open
to let you burst inside.
I can feel these moments calling
and I will choose to be by your side.

We have spoken a few times here on Dup and each time you were always kind and thoughtful.
I wish for you a miracle. I wish I could wave a wand and make you all better.
Your kindness and remarkable presence has helped many feel at home here, you being here has and does have an impact on everyone who knows you or will know you. I am truly truly saddened that you have such a tough road ahead of you beautiful lady.
I remember last year when you told me that you’re living with cancer and fighting it.
It broke my heart then and it breaks my heart even more so now. Elisha please know I have always liked you and do care.
You are loved as you can see and feel

"Even God Blinks"
Perhaps God is just a sasquatch
making his way through the woods
pushing seeds down into the dirt
with his thumb
Thus the start, of a trail of trees
-Knowing someone will probably cut them down
before they have a chance to be fully majestic
God never planned to be a caretaker
But he does it anyway
because he isn't very good with predictions
Yet his thumbs are green
We see his knuckles, atop the hills
Thousands of years ago
the first humankind were amazed
at how such small seeds
became the means for their shelter
Miracles were born, with thumb and dirt
And a god was fabricated
for man to celebrate skyward
Nowadays,
I say my prayers anyway
Because God may really be a god
Yet perhaps the clouds muffled my pleas
Maybe God blinked
and overlooked me
Maybe by now God sees us
as mannequins in a barn
-Takes a leg, an arm
Something reusable
to rebuild us
his little fireflies
that sometimes get broken
when he puts the lid back on too soon
Before we had a chance
to escape the containment
I really don't know.
What I know, is
how the sunlight searches for us
between the gaps in the slabs
of the barn walls
How, when I raise my hand
the sunlight slices it
into several pieces
- So it seems
How every other knuckle
will be cold or warm
As I turn my hand
like a lone dancer in the dark
but extended towards the light
Like our lives, during life
The same hand that writes poetry
and that touched the lips
of someone who said I love you
God will never have that
will never know that feeling
How love humbles us, after all
We are but vessels for the heart
as it follows the sun back out
through the cracks of the barn walls
When we see our majestic destiny
above us.
God, remember mercy, after you blink
Leave me an eye, at least
A hand, and some light
so that I can write
how fortunate life is
How lucky, when it rains
it's not tears this time
shining upon my face
It's the flow of life
being renewed
all through me
God, take a break
the earth has infinity
See me
I will give you almost all of me
for these simplest gifts from you.
