From Today
I
I heard it calling deftly,
this inner resevoir
of all I had overlooked
and simply ignored
though it swallowed me;
corroding my innermost reaches.
Its voice was wavering
giving me no assurance
that it would contain me fully
and teach me anything
I wouldn't learn by
easing into something
new.
I took an unnerving swan dive
and swam into a vastness,
my perceptions clouded
until I only felt a tingle
of the deftest poisons buoyancy
amidst glittering foam.

In Windowpanes
That each dull day and each despairing act
Builds up the crags from which the spirit leaps.'

I
Framed in grey the drab light
spills from white expanse;
reaches over the goings of many,
their eyes swimming in conformity,
heels pounding the firmament
to somewhere gone meandering,
catching a sideways smirk.

striding along with purpose,

A Watershed
I
Pearls of water
rising in beads on
our worlds brow;
so necessary
and we fall the same
way.
I am liquid
holding momentum;
you can't see that
I know everything,
how things move
is patterened
by me.
Merging faster
to engage a communal
you will all experience
each to an other;
a motioning in transparency
becoming as one.

I will contain all esters
your cells can resonate with
as they will absorb
my knowledge

Hero, Monster or God
"Mythology can be defined as the sacred history of humankind. "
- Gerald Hausman
Peggysoarus
As silvered wings
shrug off the gale,
night descends long
her spectre pale.
High above it all,
soaring in the mists;
a soul gallops untethered
in a heavenly tryst.
To feel her heart beat
is to flutter great wings
and drift into sleep
as moondust she brings.

Herd In Demise
I
In final realms we carry on
and in so going hear a song,
undefeated in a slow refrain,
unretreating with none to blame.
Darting eyes still seek relief
behind a guise where few retreat;
onward stagger heavy feet
if I am to lie this won't repeat.
Health betrays revealing bones,
a framework once so stealthily grown:
I am not what I appear,
under this mask I still know fear.
II
Pressing on we know not pause,
to hell have gone our former laws
the throes of which are faltering
as we...

Kindred
That time you sent me that song
out of the blue
a million years after you left
It said things
that float between us
Things that
I know I’ll never hear you say
and I guess that’s okay
But I wondered…
And I don’t understand
what it is in me
that wakes up at your words
--just behind my solar plexus--
Even though there’s so much space
and so much time
separating our realities
And it makes no sense
that my soul should leap
in recognition
at your voice
When I don’t even know
if I...

Thirty Pieces of Silver
For this
paltry sum
I’d throw
away
my
morality.
Is this, truly, who I am?
I ponder
the query
hoping not
but…
The sun
shines
brightly
as if oblivious
to my
deliberately
delicate
mental debate.
Turning a corner,
the dawning
of a new vision
sheds clarity
on an old
desire.
Yet,
the heart
pounds
stronger
for what
it’s been
denied.
Plucking
daisy petals
“I will do” ...
paltry sum
I’d throw
away
my
morality.

18th Day
Just arrived from the mosque
After Tarawee prayer
I feel so tired and sleepy
I perspired a lot while praying
It felt like exercising for an hour
Of brisk walking and burned calories
From the food I took during iftar
Another round of food was served after tarawee prayer
I had a cup of arroz caldo, a piece of sandwich and a pack of juice
Now I'm full again
I just want to lie down and go to sleep
But I need to post my entry for the day
Or I might get another X
Today is the 18th day of Ramadhan
Only eleven days...

inks on fire: random sketches 10
the ways of gratitude
:"But He said unto them, I have meat to eat
That ye know not of."—John 4:32, KJV
'tis not the place for gormandisers
where a desertland
feeds dust to hopeless compromisers
hungry on demand
'tis not the season of waste banquets
while earth victims cry
whose threadbare backsides have no blankets
'neath the open sky
'tis not the ways of gratitude to
shoot the wicked gaze
at those whose begging attitude true
penury portrays
'tis mercy...

codependency
does every sin need a savior?
or our sun require the moon?
did the earth marry gravity to spin?
i don’t care then, if my mind buries your name
in its memorial graveyard
go ahead, see if i care
try me, test me
i don’t need to win
you belong here, we don’t need a
how, why, or when
independence is a friend
too bad for you, then
if a matchbox could speak, it would
over how many times you’ve set ablaze
those entitled, sappy letters
before crucifying them to your fireplace
and you’ve burned more than paper ...

Starseed
Planted in the empty
With the unknown void of what might bloom
The very soul within me
Shining between miracle and gloom
Sprouts of twilights
Glimmering nectar
Heavenly roots
Weaved in it's venture
Blossoming stars
Growing together
Cosmic ties
Ultimately severed
Destiny of the spore
A fate canopied like creation
As the nova roars
Shattering the noxious precipitation
Galactic echoes
Fragmented depths
Budding fractals
Flowering death
Razor leaf ...
