Wake up from slumber

smiles through teary eyes
making up castle in the air
feet walking on dewy grass
brushing cobwebs off her hair

listening to the crash of waves
incessantly flirting with the shore
watching gently falling leaves
blown by the wind to the ground below

there's so much leisure now
the clock stopped ticking
time doesn't matter anymore
life is lived fragile and fleeting

she resigned memories
of him to the stars

some great poems throughout the thread. But, for me poem of 2024 would be the one shared by grace.

What The Lovelorn Maiden Really Thinks🙃

Dearest Lover,

If I could share your bed again,
your willing slave I'd gladly be!
Desire for you would never wane!
If I could share your bed again,
my Lord, I'd do – and not complain! –
whatever you commanded me!
If I could share your bed again,
your willing slave I'd gladly be!

If I could once more naked lie
within your arms, my lusty Lord,
upon your sword I'd gladly die!
If I could once more naked lie
with you, my c**t would never dry!
And not with me you would get bored
if I could once more naked lie
within your arms, my lusty Lord!

Forever yours.
Your Maiden♥️.

PS This song's for you, my irresistibly sexy Loverman.

Nice song. I haven't listen to her for a while.

she mourn a chapter that came to close
they used to be one,  not drifted apart
she wants new  direction to choose
she wants a brand-new start

tears may flow and the heart may ache
closing the album of  memories
and leave for new pathways to take
but the time has come for newness

letting go means nothing is lost
just like going through another door
more experiences more purpose
for life must know no shackle nor bond

and through the adventures of worlds
mysteries shall be uncovered and stories told

One For You And Your Friend 💐

Sometimes metre breaks
and sentences won't form
to say exactly what they should

but could I form those sentences
I would.

a start of purpose
a will to un-remember
past words knocking
on almost closed door

there are parallel
between our worlds
curtains in between the veil
conversations in faint whispers

let me move to the end
where the door stand
waiting to open to welcome
us to the other side of the ocean

Meanwhile, back at the ranch ...

The Ballad Of The Poem Of 2024 (cont.)

And then appeared the Mariner,
a coat he wore of black,
and saw the Lover sitting there,
forlorn beside the track.

He stopped a while and thought a while,
and then, with scowl so grim,
he poked the Lover with his stick
and spoke stern words to him:

"Why by the roadside do you sit?
You should be on your Quest,
to get my fatal arrow back,
so I at last can rest!"

The Lover raised his teary eyes
and said: "The Maiden's gone away!
She said she'd love me evermore –
and then she went away!"

"She went away?"
the seadog cried,
" A Woman's soul is black!
A hard and heartless sex they are
and badness not they lack!

The Maiden is a wicked thing
to treat a poor man so,
and where she found her wicked heart
I really do not know!"

The Lover groaned a deep, deep, groan,
a tear fell from his eye.
His Maid had broke his poor, poor, heart.💔
He wished that he could die. 😥

Ballad Of The Poem Of 2024 (cont.)

"Now don't despair," the seadog said.
"A Woman's like a bus.
When one departs, another comes,
no need to make a fuss,

and when she does you'll hop aboard
and find a comfy seat
then take a ride, a bumpy ride –
a bumpy ride so sweet!"

"I loved her so,"
the Lover sighed. 😥
"but now she's gone away. 😥
She said she'd love me evermore! –
and then she went away!
" 😥

"Come on, young friend," the seadog said,
"Your attitude's all wrong,
so put away this gloomy tune
and sing another song.

You'll soon be back in love again,
your sugar in her bowl.
What more is Woman, after all?
She's just a nice warm hole."

Ballad Of The Poem Of 2024

"Too harsh you are, O Mariner!
I miss that Maiden's grace.
I miss her eyes, I miss her smile,
I miss her pretty face.

I miss her hair, I miss her hat,
I miss her sweet, sweet lips.
I miss her hands, I miss their touch,
I miss her curving hips.

I miss her kiss! I miss her kiss!
I miss her lovely voice.
I miss that Maiden, all of her,
and if I had the choice

I'd turn back Time to when we walked
together on our way
and then I would stop every clock
so in that time we'd stay!"

The Lover groaned a deep, deep, groan,
a tear fell from his eye.
His Maid had broke his poor, poor, heart. 💔
