Snow Leopard

Rest now
lover
climax weary
singed from my searing summer rays
you wounded dove
you famished field mouse

Sleep

Gather your strength
Rise radiant
to winter chill
Glow against the gaunt
tundra horizon

Your Snow Leopard stealth
shall shine
shall gaze
shall prance
gleefully renewed
refreshed and radiant
vibrant and hungry
as a frozen wilderness

Leap, then
bound and determined
your fangs exposed
your claws extended

Rip away the essence
of my ravaged heart

Leave your bloody prints
in a frosty dusting
along with my gutted
memory

pale and silent
as heavenly crystals
