Death By Taxes
Exploiting the need
Setting the cost of this dead end living
In this system, the consumer is the feed
Lives for auction, waged efforts in short changed bidding
Cycles of debt make up bondages of dependency
Desperation to control in this market of captivity
Oppressive price tags and credit scores to earn a right to owe
Qualifying for financial burdens
They own the ground in which we sow
Harvesting more costly endeavors in this death grip for a home
Culture of the illusion of success
Retirement savings for future...

mind and heart going for a walk
amazing how madness, and rationale can exist in the same head space-while time only knows which overrides the other in the end-outloud or in silence....striving for the "higher" road despite my own struggles within....
why philosophical discussions are embraced-due to its light hearted, and open minded approach;
when I'm alone-i know that I am not exempt from human imperfection-despite a desperate need for one's self to separate one's self and longing to escape everything....

Menopausal Madness
You have no idea how chaotic and stressful my life has been in the last several weeks
I’m living with a passive aggressive nutjob
no more smiles or laughter
those days are over
one second she’s quiet, the next she’s crying
a minute later were having a normal conversation, the next she begins an argument
not just any argument,
screaming at the top of her lungs
something as petty as why the garbage wasn’t thrown out,
or why is there 20 dollars missing out of her wallet
clearly she forgets that she has numerous wallets throughout many different...

frigid consumption
is it fair to call anything a gift? as though it may seem so-though it could potentially be snatched away if ever "given"(apart from simply living)? the list goes on for days....
that's primarily the point; that's why some prefer detachment over advertised fantastics; because night ultimately rules the day, even when the sun shines, and the makings of an art gallery display;
"reality" is too much of a brick through the windows that-as they say "leads to the soul"- to even dare have "wildest of...

Flying Pigsfeet
Flying Pigsfeet
Ann had cooked the pigsfeet. Cat and Alice brought the steaks.
Clare arrived with veggies and Sarah’s tasty cakes.
Family members talked and laughed before we took our seats.
The house was filled with smells of food. I couldn’t wait to eat.
It was a lavish dinner on the eve of Halloween.
The table was bedecked with food. What a scrumptious scene!
We all sat down and bowed our heads while Pete said Holy Grace.
Then everyone began to eat at a wondrous tasty pace.

The Giggle
The Giggle
In the misty, murky mire of a mangled, marshy mud
rose a Moon betwixt the shadows ‘neath a starry night above.
No bird beat wings. No mouse did squeak. Not even an owl’s hoot
could pierce the stillness clinging to the trees and plants and roots.
I stomped upon a cigarette. The embers fumed and fizzled.
As I turned to go back inside, I swore I heard a giggle;
not large but small, not big but tiny, not huge but very wee,
behind the house down by the marsh’s solitary tree.
I stepped on leaves. I sloshed thru...

Fade To Umber
I
Calculus in detritus;
sediment under waning tide,
cavernous and void of light --
upward eyes these still ride.
I am sunk within your deep
rivulets of sentiment steeped;
swirling around a constant murmur,
fomenting in this rudiment.
Ever furthur into clay
sublimate of irony loam;
every fibre pulls me close
untoward your centre comb.
II
Photos dry around the edges,
memories of earliest home;
caught within the many layers
fading with its Kodachrome.
Now gone I wither furthur; ...

Sometimes it's the same moments that take your breath away that

wherefore are you hurled

your choices are your destiny
“The choice to make good choices is the best choice you can choose.
Fail to make that choice and on most choices you will lose.”―Ryan Lilly
you can't soar in a windless sky,
or summit-seek on smooth rocks;
your choices are your destiny,
your vices your in-trade stocks.
you can't see forward looking back,
or make advance retreating,
